Periods for appeal have been amended by the Law Amending Certain Laws For The Purposes of Resolving the Issues Arising From the Operation of Reginal Courts of Justice and Regional Administrative Courts numbered 7035 (“Law No. 7035”) published in the Official Gazette dated 5 August 2017 and numbered 30145 (Duplicate).

 

With the Law No. 7035, the period for appeal stated under the Article 291 of the Criminal Procedure Law numbered 5271 has been amended from seven days to fifteen days as from the announcement of the verdict.

 

Additionally, with the Law No. 7035, period for appeal of the decisions which are subject to appeal as stated under the Article 361 of the Civil Procedure Law numbered 6100 has been amended from one month to two weeks as from the date of the notification of the judgements.

 

As per the Provisional Article 1 of Law No. 7035, the amendments made concerning the periods for appeal stated above shall apply to the judgements given on and after the effective date of the Law No. 7035 (05.08.2017).
